Amazing history…..

Some amazing history in the walls of this gaol, thank you from tourists from Dublin

We all got something from our visit….

Really enjoyed our visit to this historic site. The projected information sites were excellent and very informative. Each cell gave you a different view of prison life and the tasks and privations you had to suffer. The external areas were also of interest. Our group consisted of a 71 year old and a 6 year old and we all got something from our visit.

Good interactive experience…..

Very good interactive experience with lots of information and displays.

It went great!

It went great! The bus was there on time and a very pleasant and helpful bus driver. The tour was great, its self-directed but there are very good audio and videos in the cells where the students could learn lots at their own pace. The girl at the front office (I wish I got her name) was brilliant and so helpful. The catering was good too we had a coffee/tea and scone each in a nice room at the end of the tour. All in all I thought it was very good, thanks for all your help with organising it!

Deaglan Coyle, Queens University

Self led tour well executed….

Really fascinating history of such an infamous location sensitively told. Beautifully resorted building and the self led tour was well executed

Amanda, UK

Excellent insight….

It’s an excellent insight into the old prison system, I enjoyed the interactive parts and the small info parts are very informative.

The students loved it!

Many thanks for arranging our group visit. The students loved it and always learn something new. I hope to bring another group to Belfast in the future and will certainly be in touch.

Catherine Charlton, Rutgers University

Go there for music!

This place is a gem. As a music venue, it is very intimate and that makes it all the more appealing. I’ve seen two tribute bands there covering the work of Jonny Cash and Garth Brooks. Both were incredible. Superb view of the stage, great atmosphere, good bar, plenty of free parking and very reasonable ticket prices. Fantastic nights out on both occasions.

Unusual but very interesting

A slightly unusual visitor attraction, but very interesting. An excellent self-guided tour which helps to explain part of the history of this fascinating city.

Jackie B, London, UK

Interactive tour – great video on Irish history too!

Took the family on the tour on what turned out to be a very wet day in Belfast. A great choice! The family really enjoyed it. It’s a very interactive experience and you get a real sense of the place. My oldest son uses a wheelchair and the staff couldn’t do enough to help and make sure EVERYONE in our family enjoyed the experience. A surprise for me was the absolutely brilliant Irish history video – this should be made available to schools and online – delivery of the subject matter is so educational and informative – well done to whoever created the video! Highly recommend the tour to anyone visiting Belfast.

Will definitely be going again….

No issue walking around as it was a self guided tour. We stopped at Cuffs restaurant in there, the food was delicious. It wasn’t expensive. The staff were lovely and friendly. We will definitely be going there again for our next trip.

Fascinating experience!

Just wanted to say a massive thank you to yourselves for having us this afternoon. All the students had a great time touring the gaol and they all found it to be a fascinating experience seeing what life was like as a prisoner. Please send on our thanks to all the team for the setup and warm welcome, we are all thrilled.

Keith Conlan, Ratoath College

Well worth a visit

Brilliant place to visit. Fascinating and thought provoking exhibits. Loved the exhibit where the history of how the Troubles developed was shown. I would recommend it.

Great place to visit with groups!

We had a really good sessions this morning and the hospitality and food from Lisa and the team was great too. I appreciate your efficiency and quickness responding to emails too. We look forward to working with you in the future and I will tell all the youth work organisations we work with that you are a great place to visit with groups.

Staycation

As a local resident in NI and not normally doing local trips, I must say we are so glad we did, this is a great tour. Victorian prison with so much history and all the rest, just disappointed restaurant was closed for private function that day but only cause we where hungry, didn’t spoil our visit & highly recommend this experience.
