Haunting Halloween Experience

This Halloween, one of Belfast’s most haunted buildings, Crumlin Road Gaol is opening its cells for some spine chilling, nail biting events which are guaranteed to make even the bravest of visitors jump. The 5 star visitor attraction will be pulling out all the stops for its eagerly anticipated Halloween programme which will feature the ‘Jail of Horror’, intense scare attraction and a ‘2hr Paranormal Investigation’ ghost haunting experience.

Launching on Thursday 15th October and ending on Halloween Night, these events are the perfect preparation to get your annual fix of all things spooky and paranormal. There will be haunting Halloween events to suit both those seeking a heart pounding fear fest or those seeking a ghostly experience in a haunted prison which witnessed the execution of 17 men over its 150 year history.

Jail of Horror

The Jail of Horror described as one of Belfast’s most fearsome scare attractions is back and it’s bigger and better for Halloween 2020. Visitors if they dare, will enter the off-limits dungeon of D Wing and face all their fears on an intense scare after scare journey which only has one way out!! The one-of-a-kind Jail of Horror experience through Belfast’s oldest prison will offer a 30 minute terrifying unparalleled experience where no one will hear your scream!

2hr Paranormal Investigation

Duration: 2 hours approx

Sightings, noises and unexplained happenings… Are you brave enough to go ghost hunting? The chilling expert led 2hr Paranormal Investigation gives visitors the opportunity to interact with the spirits as they get hands on with authentic experiments using paranormal investigating equipment. The serious paranormal investigation will visit various hotspots of the jail where paranormal activity has been reported and sighted.

Important information

All events start on the 15th October 2020 and the last events will be on Halloween night October 31st 2020. 

Booking is essential

Please note, all events are carried out in low light conditions and flat footwear must be worn.

The events are not suitable for those with heart conditions, epilepsy or expecting mothers and if you are easily scared, it may not be for you either! Due to the nature of the building the Jail of Horror is not wheelchair accessible and some areas of the 2hr Paranormal Investigation are also not wheelchair accessible. 


Limited spaces on all events are available due to social distancing guidelines and time slots will strictly be adhered to. Upon entry you will be asked to wear a face covering and disposable gloves (we will provide these if needed). In the event that we have to cancel this event due to COVID-19 restrictions, a full refund of the ticket price will be issued to the card that was used for payment. Tickets are non-refundable for any other reason. Tickets can be transferred for a fee of £5 per ticket to another date / time.
